    Dale R. Thompson received his B.S. and M.S. Degrees in Electrical Engineering from Mississippi State University in 1990, and 1992, respectively. He worked as an electronics engineer in the communications group at the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center in Vicksburg, Mississippi from 1992 to 2000. He received his Ph.D. Degree in Electrical Engineering from North Carolina State University in 2000. He has been with the Department of Computer Science and Computer Engineering at the University of Arkansas since 2000.

    Dr. Thompsons research interests are in the areas of wavelength-division multiplexing virtual topology design, traffic analysis, telecommunications network design, performance evaluation of computer networks, and optimization with evolutionary algorithms such as genetic algorithms.
